Belief SystemsWhy do we believe?Religion is not just a temporarily single momentary experience, neither only single momentary psychological mood to some people. She is not something from humans soul that can wipe off easy like broom wipes away dust. On the contrary, religion exists in the history of humanity as an inseparable follower, yet how powerful impact she made on the history of humanity, and more how richly created and ornament culture of humanity.Development of the history of religion as a scienceFirst University Chair for history of religion was created in Geneva in 1873. Greeks and Romans used earlier cultures such as Mycenaean and  Minoan. In that period  Hecataeus of Miletus has made a world map ( without America and Australia ).During the history of mankind, religion appeared in many and very different forms. Some of these forms come from famous historical persons, as is the case for Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism, Jainism, Zoroastrianism, but some of them came from the depths of a religious nature of national masses, which is the case with different national polytheistic religions. All types of religion we can split out into two main types: monotheism and polytheism. In the first type, monotheism we will include an archaic type of monotheism. Many people this type of monotheism also calls pre monotheism, then biblical monotheism, from which are developed: Christianity, Islam. In the group of polytheistic religions, classified religions are animism, Greek religion, Egyptian, Roman, Babylonian, Slavic, Celtic. Secret SocietyIn human society, secret associations existed for thousands of years. In a certain sense term “secret societies” is wrong, because very often they are public. In reality, those societies secrets are obvious, but often that “secrets” attract the most attention. No doubt that here on the wishlist is to become the member of the social elite, and that is something that all people feel in a certain period of their lives. There is a desire to separate from “average mass” or to belong to something very special, and that is connected with belief that affiliation to such elite will bring rich rewards, money or something else. The point is, that all “secret” groups claim that they possess secret knowledge which no one else knows.Everybody claims that they own some type of truth.Very often is that “secret knowledge” is just a way to get more attention from the newcomers- tool to confuse the senses, encourage devotion and to keep the attention. One of the biggest secrets of Secret Societies is where is located The Holy Grail. What attracts people is that when they become part of secret society they will feel special, separated from the mass of “normal” people.Common to all secret societies: They claim that they  own secret knowledge. They think that they are the only “truly” keepers of that knowledge. They claim that only their knowledge is the ultimate truth. They think they have the long history. They are often persecuted.Their real secrets are rare, except rituals. Global PerspectiveTheistical view about religion and its originIf a human is a product of Gods direct creation, then the origin of religion should be sought in same wellspring where and origin on the human. If God made a human, he created him as a religious being and here in humans nature lies source of religion. When we say that human is naturally religious being, we do not think that baby is giving birth with religion in itself, as a matter of fact, the baby is born with many abilities among which it is religious disposition or figuratively religious seedling.Atheistical hypothesis about religion and its originThey think God does not exist, and so on neither Gods treatment in nature nor in human lives. Human, according to their belief, is not the creature of God, but the product of blind case or natural laws, especially the law of evolution of the living world which is developing by itself without the influence of God.Accordingly, nothing in the world is a product of a God, nor man, nor human religion.Political hypothesis about religion and its originPolitical hypothesis starts from the assumption that religion is not a reflection of human’s nature, but it is loaded from outside, mechanical way, through political power and government.According to the claim of this hypothesis, religion was invented by monks, that they can easily live at the expense of the people, and established by lawmakers with the cunning plan in order to preserve national masses through religion in obedience, in order to exploit them.Deficiency of this hypothesisThis hypothesis is clashing with undoubted facts about religious psychology, with logic principles and with historical facts.Naturalistic hypothesis about religion and its originThe basic assumption of this hypothesis is that humans evolved from animal gradually, during many centuries of evolution of the living world, and without any influence of God because God does not exist. Animistic hypothesis about religion and its originEnglish scientist Edvard Taylor brought out the new hypothesis about the origin of religion, also known as the animistic theory.By this hypothesis origin of religion should be sought in understanding of primitive people that not just a human, but every else creature on world have soul as a separate part of their being, and souls of the dead can as a personal ‘ghosts’ to inhabit not just in the living creatures, but also in dead objects. In the further development of animistic belief higher forms of faith are creating into ghosts: paganism and monotheism.Egoism as a source of religionOld Greek writer Euhemerus and German philosopher Feuerbach claimed that human egoism is the source of religion, and invented religion only because he needs it because it satisfies his needs.Pessimism as the source of religionPhilosophers pessimists, for example, Schopenhauer and Hartman, finds that pessimism is a source of religion. Human sees the senselessness of this life filled with many malices and sufferings. From this mood, he falls into despair and searches for exit and salvation in religion in hope for better life after death.National PerspectiveAccording to Gallup International, 77% of Serbian residents claim that they are religious, which means that Serbia is the 5th most religious country in Europe. However, analysts say that this percentage isn’t completely valid because many people do not even know what religion actually is and what means to be religious. There are many unconscious reasons why do people believe in God among which there are: Family and peer pressure,Fear of death,Wishful thinking,Fear of responsibility and freedom.Believing in God because of peer or family pressure is one of the most dangerous things because later on, that leads to hatred of another religion, conflict, and war.In Serbia situation about the percentage of religious people is stable:87% Christians- Orthodox7% Christians- Catholics5% Muslims1% Protestants0.01% JewsPersonal PerspectiveFrom the first day, people always believed in someone or something, and there will be always someone that will believe.People mostly believe because they can not live alone, without faith, they must trust someone or something. We should believe in God because it is some kind of force that we can not see but we can feel, and that force is always with us.Big impact on believers has Holy Books ( Bible, Quran ).Holy Books should be read with high concentration, and clear mind, because without high concentration and clear mind we could understand book on some other way, and that is heresyThere should not be the difference between people because of faith, or religion, we are all same.Personal Perspective- Future ScenariosThe digital world is growing, new things are valued, 40% of living world have access to the internet (3,804,262,400).”New Era is coming.”We can not say that religion is dying but less and fewer people are truly believing in God.We don’t precisely see in which direction it is going but to save religion we need to respect tradition more, and not give up on it.To save the religion people must read about religion, faith and start respecting tradition, we need to understand the religion.Personal Response- ConclusionI conclude that if we don’t become religious as we were in past centuries, religion will lose its value and the Era of Digital World will start, which is not good because we will lose our soul and faith. If this continues: In 2050, there will be more Christians than any other religious group.More and more Christians will live in Sub- Saharan Africa.Atheism is growing in the west, but not in the rest of the world.Christianity will “fall” in the United States of America. In 2050, Christianity will be minor religion in the United Kingdom. On our island waves are coming, and we need to save our houses. We can not go through without faith.Religion does not separate us, it connects us, we are all humans, we are all living on the same planet, we are all same.
