aspx I am fascinated by the human eye by what it does and how it works by flipping the image you are looking at to see straight and not upside down like it is in your brain. The human eye works like a pinhole camera or camera obscura has the image upside down but then flips the image you are looking at to see straight. I plan on building a camera in order to learn more about how the brain sees images. The optic nerve is what makes vision possible.
Legally blind means you can only see up to 20 ft. but a normal person can see up too 200 ft..These are what the parts of the human eye do. The cornea is a clear part that lets light through.The iris controls the size of the pupil.
The pupil changes size to control how much light is entering the eye. The sclera is fibrous tissue that protects the inner workings of the eye. The lens focuses light rays onto the retina. The retina changes light into nerve signals. The rods and cones use special cells used by the retina to process light. The fovea contains only cone cells. It allows us to see things sharply. The optic nerve carries messages from the eyes to the brain.
The macula is a small and highly sensitive part of the retina responsible for central vision. The experiment I will be doing is making a pinhole camera that will show how the human eye works and what it looks like before the image goes to your brain and flips the image or what your looking at right side up and not upside down.Things you will need for a pinhole camera: 1:7 inch oatmeal circle container 2:Nm.16 needle3:Aluminum soda can4:Rubber bands 5:Flat black spray paint6:Epoxy7:Manila folders8:Electrical tape9:Craft knife 10:Fine sandpaper These are pinhole cameras that show how a pinhole camera works by flipping the image upside down which shows how the human eye works but its flipped again when the image reaches the brain and then is flipped to see right side up and upside down The human eye works with your brain and has a lot of other main parts like the Cornea,Retina,Lens,Iris,Pupil,Rodes and Cones,Macula,Optic Nerves,Nerve Signals,Foveas,Scelra. To be legally blind your visual acuity has to be 20/200 or less. Visual acuity is sharpness of vision, measured by the ability to discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
To have 20/20 vision you need to be able to have Peripheral Vision. Peripheral Vision is the corner of your eye that lets you see your left and your right if you are looking straight. To be color blind is where you can tell the difference between colors like you get colors mixed up like blue might be black or purple might be orange.This can distort what a person sees and make things look blurry. Glasses or contact lens correct vision because they allow the eye to focus light in the right spot on the retina the spot that produces the clearest image.
People who have to have glasses or contacts see everything blurry if it is far enough away from them so they need contacts or glasses to see clear. A lot of people are born with blurry vision or blind but if they have blurry vision they can get it fixed with glasses or contacts it’s kind of like binoculars if your vision is blurry then you can fix the binoculars to fix your vision same with people without blurry vision but you can fix the binoculars to fix your vision. To make the pinhole camera take your needle and poke a hole in the middle of the oatmeal container. Then take your aluminium soda can and cut a 2 inch by 1 inch piece out of it then take your needle and poke a hole in it.
Then take your sandpaper and sand around the hole until you cant see the paint. Take your spray paint and go outside and spray the inside of the oatmeal container and the lid till it’s completely black and let sit for 20 minutes.While your waiting for the oatmeal container to dry take one of the manila folder and cut 2 pieces 7 inches by 1 inch and 1 piece 5 inches by 1 inch.When the oatmeal container is done drying take the epoxy and spread it around on the soda can and line the hole up with the hole in the oatmeal container and let it sit for ten minutes.
Then take the 2 7 inch by 1 inch manila folders and and cut 10 inch pieces of electrical tape and place it on the manila folders and then take the oatmeal container and place the manila folders above and below the hole you made. Then take the 5 inch by 1 inch piece of manila folder and make and fold it like a T and put it in between the 2 other manila folders making it slide back and forth. Then your done with your pinhole camera then you will need to get solar paper from stores like HOBBY LOBBY. Then you need a dark room and you want to keep the solar paper in a dark room.
Then you need to take your pinhole camera and open the lid and put a piece of it in the camera and slide the handle over the hole and wait and wave the picture back and forth until you see the picture appearing and you got a pinhole camera.
